ACTP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice) has recommended below mentioned vaccines for interim use.

A. Pfizer-BioNTech is meant for 12-15 years old,
B. Moderna for up to 18 years old,
C. Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) for up to 18 years old

Children of the age group of 12-15 years of age should take a double jab of Pfizer-BioNTech with a gap of three weeks. The vaccine for the age group of 5-12 years will soon get its long waited approval. The most important news is the vaccine for the toddler of 6 months is under trial. Children should receive the Covid-19 vaccine at the earliest to defang the venomous Delta variant. Post lockdown, vaccination will be the licence for every child to enter into their respective schools. Children jab contain 10 micrograms per shot, while adults contain 30 micrograms.

FDA will verify the raw data of vaccination of children of the age group of 12-15 years to decide on the vaccination drive for children of the age group of 5-12 years. Dr Anthony Fauci the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease state that the Covid-19 vaccine will be available for children of the age group of 5-12 years from the end of October of the current year.

The Covid-19 vaccine is safe for adults as well as children. There is no such incident of child death due to the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine. Unlike adults, children are not superspreaders of the Covid-19 vaccine. In India, five hospitals received approval for the trial of the Covid-19 vaccine to children. The children are segregated into three groups i.e. 2-6 years, 6-12 years, 12-18 years. The Covid-19 vaccine will administer to 175 children of each group. There are few paediatrics who raised objections to child vaccination, as child immunity is not well developed like adults. The most important point is that herd immunity will be achieved without child vaccination. The data accumulated by FDA shows that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe for children. Vaccination of children will break the chain of Covid-19's transmission, as most of the adult population are already vaccinated. The prolonged closure of schools has a fastening impact on the education of children. The online education system could not become a viable alternative to school education. Parents should take their children to local health care for vaccination without any hesitation.
