Countries Failed in Their COVID-19 Response

The million-dollar question is why so many countries failed at coronavirus contact tracing? The answer is that countries failed to understand the importance of contact tracing. The Covid19 pandemic spreads to every nook and corner of the world. Almost 215 countries were affected by Covid19 pandemic and 114 million  people suffered from coronavirus out of which 25 million died. The Chinese city Wuhan is the origin of Covid19 virus and the fatal disease spreads from China to the rest of the world. China did not share all the information related to coronavirus with WHO and submerged the whole world into misery. The pandemic nature of Covid19 was so severe that most of the countries failed to overcome the noose of the coronavirus. Delayed declaration of WHO about the pandemic nature of Covid19 and human to human transmission allowed the virus to spread on a massive scale. Most nations took a lot of time to take effective steps to control the coronavirus. Most of the nations failed to execute the contact tracing effectively, which allowed the coronavirus to spread in rapid motion.

Even developed countries like the USA, UK, Italy, Spain failed to precisely track contact people. The lost contacts were responsible for community transmission. Below five countries made a lot of plunges and struggled to control the virus effectively.USA, Brazil, India, Russia, UK, Italy and Spain are Seven countries failed in their Covid19 response.  Due to their half hearted effort, coronavirus took away millions of precious lives, which can be easily saved.

1. USA:

The USA is the current superpower of the world, and one of the countries failed in their Covid19 response, which took millions of lifes. USA administration was saddled between inactions and nonchalant, which allowed coronavirus to spread its tentacle all over the USA and forced the numero uno economy to come to a standstill. The USA has resources, an unmatched economy, robust healthcare infrastructure to control the fatal disease. The sluggish nature and indecisiveness of government turned all the weapons blunt and

useless. The administration took a prolonged time to impose a complete lockdown. The maximum number of people did not follow the social distancing, stay away from masking their face, which dealt a telling blow to the recovery process. The USA must learn some lessons from the exemplary performance of New Zealand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Japan, which successfully muzzled the rapid spreads of covid19 pandemic, by imposing contact tracing, clinical test and quarantine policy.

2. Brazil

Brazil is severely affected by the Covid19 pandemic, with more than 114 million cases and deaths count hovering around 2,80000. Brazil's national government failed to chalk out any discrete plan or strategy to handle the Covid19 pandemic precisely. For administration the strategies  like contact tracing, clinical testing are unknown. The proper lockdown was not imposed by the Brazilian government. Feeble healthcare facility failed to handle the increasing number of coronavirus patients. Brazil is on the crater of coronavirus generated pandemic, waiting for eruptions and becoming a potential threat to neighbouring countries.

3. Mexico:

Mexico is the worst-performing nation against the Covid19 with more than 100,000 deaths. The exact death toll should be in higher numbers, as is the non-availability of a coronavirus testing facility. Feeble healthcare facility failed to stop the rally of Covid19 related deaths. According to the latest survey, only 20% of people who died due to

Covid19 were intubated. Hospitals were not equipped enough to treat the Covid19 patients, which worsened the situation and propelled the already prevailed pandemic situation to reach catastrophic levels. Tracking, testing and quarantine are words unknown to the Mexican government. WHO must provide immediate help to the incompetent Mexican government to cope with a catastrophic situation.

4. India:

India is one of the worst affected nations in the world, with a total number of cases surging past 450,000, with 166,000 casualties, which is the lowest per million death rate in the world. The government imposed a lockdown on 25th March. It is very difficult for a diverse country like India with a population of more than 1.4 billion, with poor healthcare facilities to control such viruses. The current recovery rate is 97.57%, which is the highest in the world. India already flattened the Covid19 curve, with a low mortality rate. The maximum number of people developed hard immunity, which is potent enough to boost the recovery rate further.
India suddenly struck by the disastrous impact of the second wave of Covid-19. The country was not prepared for this sudden blitzkrieg of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic reached the catastrophic stage. The power would be made a lot of plunges and struggle to control the Covid19 pandemic. The country was almost recovered from the first wave of Covid-19 during the second half of December 2020. Almost three months later the incursions of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic stunned the whole country. From the onset of April 2021, the daily infections surpassed 300,000 and death counts hovering over three thousand. The count of daily vaccination was not potent enough to hinder the progress of coronavirus. The second wave did not spread its tentacle all the nooks and corner of the country. Only 82 districts were affected by the second wave. The mayhem almost reached its highest level and health infrastructure was almost crumbled. Later central government with the help of the Serum institute boost the production of the Covid19 vaccine and increased the supply of oxygen cylinder to all the hospitals dealing with Covid-19 patients. The country also started to import the Covid-19 vaccine from other countries. During the second half of May 2021, the progress of coronvirus was hindered. Now the situation is under control. The mayhem created by the second wave of coronvirus is a lesson for the rest of the world, that in any circumstances one should not be left the guard against coronavirus into dusty recess. The Indian government now speed up the vaccination drive to create a safeguard against any future incursion of the coronavirus.

5. United Kingdom

The UK is the powerful economy and leading power in the world. The number of people affected by pandemic is more than 100,000 and casualties surged past 15,000. The sluggish nature of the government is responsible for the gloomy picture. The treatment of coronavirus was affected by paltry Personal Protective Equipments. Another prime reason is poor tracking of contact people.

Many countries are not reporting covid cases, which dented the initiatives taken by WHO against Covid19 pandemic. Still are there many countries not affected by the coronavirus. Singapore, New Zealand, South Korea are the not affected by Covid19 pandemic. The reason behind the poor performance of USA, UK, India, Mexico, Brazil is failure to impose lockdown at appropriate times. Poor tracking of contact persons, which failed the fight against Covid19 pandemic. WHO needs to support the healthcare facility of Brazil and Mexico. The vaccination process has already started. India already flattened the Covid19 curve - USA and UK are now doing well after the initial plunge and struggle. WHO should arrange a significant number of Covid19 vaccines for low-income countries, to end the disparity of availability of Covid19 vaccines between developed and underdeveloped countries. We need to purge our beautiful world from the vile effect of coronavirus.
