China Outbreak Pandemic: Coping with Effects of Unemployment and Poaching

Covid19 pandemic left an indelible impact on the world economy. Most of the countries of the world affected by Covid19 pandemic. The employment rate was higher than in the pre-Covid19 periods. Lockdown had a severe impact on employment. A huge number of people were jobless and face an uncertain future. Most of the people are waiting for the removal of the lockdown and governments were busy to control the Covid19 pandemic disease. Every field of the economy was affected by en masse lockdown imposed by the government of most of the countries of the world. Few countries like China, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam remain unaffected by the viral disease and the economy also remains more or less unaffected. All the sectors of the economy i.e. industries, agriculture, tourism, IT sectors were affected by the Covid19 pandemic.

Lockdown generated recession affects both financial year 2020-2021. Low-income countries are worst affected by the pandemic. Unemployment in the time of COVID-19 pandemic reached an-all time high. Unemployment coupled with hunger and poverty creates the melancholic picture. Dismal health infrastructure shows no sign of recovery. Most developed countries provide unemployment benefits that stigmatized the recipient's social status. During the initial period of 2021, most of the developed countries recovered from the sordid state. The same can not be applicable for low-income countries. Grim impacts of the Covid19 pandemic still haunted these countries. The below-mentioned developed country's employment count took a downward spiral during the Covid19 pandemic.

1. USA

Impact of COVID-19 on Poaching

Unemployment of USA during Covid19 pandemic rose to 14 million, which can be compared to the unemployment of second world war. The most affected sectors were tour and travel industries, education, and health care. African-Americans, Hispanic were worst affected by the sudden reduction of jobs and biggest recepient of unemployment benefits. The unemployment ratio is reduced during the latter part of 2020, as an upward crescendo of the Covid19 graph was taken a downward spiral.
2. UK

The United Kingdom saw a rise in unemployment during the Covid19 pandemic. A steep rise of unemployment to 7.5%, creates 2.6 million new jobless people. The situation was slowly improved during February 2021 and unemployment reached 4 per cent. Furlough also whittle the unemployment ratio, as the original figure was much higher.
3. Germany

In 2020 Germany saw a steep increase in unemployment of 25% over the previous year and 2.75 million remain jobless. Short-time workers (STW) mostly contribute to a sudden hike in unemployment. The other sectors remain more or less untouched by the Covid19 pandemic.

4. France

France is the second-largest economy of Europe and the 7th largest in the world, under the doldrum of the Covid19 pandemic. Unemployment rose to 9%, during the third quarter of 2020. The number of job seekers reached one million during the torrid time.

 Poaching During Covid19 Pandemic

Impact of COVID-19 on Poaching

The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on poaching is immense. Underdeveloped countries more than developed countries affected by the Covid19 pandemic. Unemployment impacts the lives of normal people and results in a sudden increase animal in poaching incidents. The people of third-world countries choose to animal poaching as an alternative profession. During the regime of Covid19 pandemic poaching incidents have been increased multiple times. There is a sudden spurt in poaching incidents in South East Asia, Africa, and Latin American countries.

In India soared poaching incidents touched a new high. An average of 88 animals per day has been killed in comparison to 35 during the pre-colonial period. The animals are hunted for meat consumption and trade purpose. Incidents of stockpiling were not reported. The ungulated species of animals were the butt of the hunters. animal poaching incidents touched an all-time high in Pakistan and Nepal. Both countries are at the receiving end of the Covid19 pandemic and employment was hard hit. For unemployed people, poaching is an alternative source of livelihood. Poachers of these countries targeted birds and endangered species which are at the edge of the extension. In Nepal, six musk deers are targeted by poachers, for the costly animal meat consumption. All the efforts of the anti-poaching department went in vain.

Another continent Africa experienced the same surge of poaching incidents during the Covid19 pandemic. Uganda is one of the African nations, experienced a wild surge of poaching incidents. Post pandemic 367 animal incidents occurred and the heartland of these incidents is the National Park of Uganda. The pandemic nature of coronavirus failed to dent the morale of poachers of South Africa. Rhinos are targeted by poachers. Lack of vehicular movement of securities personnel upbeat the morale of the poachers. Both black and white rhinos are endangered species and their numbers are depleted in the last couple of decades. The Covid19 pandemic generated lockdown failed to do any justice to the endangered species. Not only rhino but elephants and gorillas are falling prey to the guns of poachers.

In Latin American countries and Colombia in particular, the big cats are consistently targeted by poachers. The lockdown provides poachers with an added advantage to poach jaguars, pumas, and ocelots in increasing numbers. The exact number of animal poaching incidents is not confirmed. The government needs to provide talisman to the endangered species by increase the movement of petrol cars with enough security personals.

Unemployment rates during the COVID-19 pandemic was on upward crescendo. WHO needs to take the onus to muzzle the spread of coronavirous and save humanity from the deep gulf of anarchy. If the Covid19 pandemic prevails over the world for a long time, then it will spell disaster. The economy of developed and underdeveloped countries will be destroyed and unemployment will hit the very social structure. Increased number of animal poaching activities are a side effect of lockdown, which will hit the root of the existence of some of the endangered species, which will destroy the bio-diversity. The only solutions are to provide Covid19 vaccine to all the low-income countries and help them to control the coronavirus to save the humanity from disaster.
